Submission Queries
We are actively seeking interested parties for the LGOF 2017!

Putting together an anthology like the LGOF is an intricate dance. Much is expected of you and all of the contributors work very hard. We ask for around 15k words of good fantasy (or the equivelent of manuscript space if poetry or flash), divided how you see fit, poems, flash, four stories, two, or just one. We ask for four photos, which can be themed, but must look nice, for your in-depth biography. We ask that you write a biography based off of an information sheet and close correspondence with one of the contributors of the opposite sex. And we ask that you do all this in a fairly short amount of time.

As proceeds from this Anthology are donated to the American Cancer Society, there is no contract, and no payment. Contributors are simply asked for a one-time print right of their stories and photos (for all three print copies and the ebook versions) as well as a continual use right to use their name and the cover photo of their segment for promotional purposes of the LGA Franchise, only. Once the publication is released, your story, photos and other content, revert back to you and may be used however you see fit, except authorizing us to use your name and cover image in association with the publication (for as long as it remains on the market print or digital).

Invitations generally go out in September, with information sheets to be filled out a.s.a.p., bio assignments go out as soon as all information sheets come in. Then it gets stagnant until the final deadline at the end of January. From January to Release it’s a little crazy. We edit and format and you do your own edits of bios and stories, last minute changes, finalizing your segment, all with no time to waste. When it is said and done, you get a .pdf copy of each book, and print copies from createspace.com and ebooks from smashwords.com go up for sale.

You’re asking, "Is it worth it?" We think so. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t do it.

Before you submit a query be sure to read the About page.

To Query for the LGOF:

Use the email:  LGOFAnthology@gmail.com
Subject line should read: Ladies and Gentlemen of Fantasy Query: Your Name
Include an introduction with your name/pen name, works you may have in print, internet links to you and your work, photo/story ideas you may have, and reasons why you would like to be in the LGOF. Please include a small sample of your writing, after your introduction, in the body of the email.

You do not have to be previously published to query; we are looking for good, imaginative writing to share with the world for a good cause. It also allows us to do something we truly love and allows you to work with 13 other fantasy writers. Contributors to the Horror version have formed close bonds. It's like a winter get-a-way for fantasy writers.
